A laboratórium kombinatorikus struktúrákat vizsgál: gráfokat, halmazrendszereket, játékokat, véges geometriákat, algebrai és számelméleti objektumokat. Színezési, lefogási és más paraméterekkel leírható extremális objektumokat keresünk, a keresési eredményekből pedig sejtéseket fogalmazunk meg.The laboratory studies combinatorial structures: graphs, set systems, games, finite geometries, and algebraic and number-theoretic objects. We search for objects characterised by extremal properties with respect to colouring, covering and other parameters, and formulate conjectures from the results of the search.

A laboratórium a kombinatorikus struktúrák három nagy családjával foglalkozik. Mindhárom irányban extremális tulajdonságokkal leírható objektumokat keresünk, és a legfrissebb eredmények már a laboratórium tagjainak közös munkájából születnek.The laboratory works on three broad families of combinatorial structures. In each direction we search for objects characterised by extremal properties, and the latest results already come from joint work of the laboratory’s members.
